THIS COURSE IS NO LONGER VALID IN ACCEPTING NEW REGISTRATIONS.
This 24 hour course is approved as initial training for Landfill Class I, II, III and C&D operators. The initial course credit requires passing a final exam. Attendees must achieve 70% proficiency. Topics include: History of Solid Waste Management in US, Basics of Landfill Design and Operations, Regulatory Aspects of Solid Waste Management, Solid Waste Facility Siting, Leachate and Stormwater, Gas and Odor, Groundwater Monitoring, Waste Control, Non-Routine Operations, Employee Health and Safety, Contingency Planning, Monitoring Site Development and Efficiency, Financial Responsibility and Closure and Post Closure.
The first 8 hours covers initial spotter training material such that spotters can attend the first day as Course #203 and receive their accreditation. Portions of the first 16 hours may be used for CE hours, as defined in Tracks above.
This course was approved for renewal by the SWMTC in Novemver of 2015 and is valid until November 2018.
