Topics include; current landfill design and operating practices and requirements, including site selection, waste screening, gas and leachate issues, training, and an overview of state and federal regulations. Plus, MOLO® offers a field exercise to give you the opportunity to review the classroom concepts and see how they can be applied on the job. There is also a final written exam with multiple choice, true/false and problem solving questions. (30 hours)

Daily breaks are scheduled. Lunch on your own.
Participants must be present for entire class time to receive CEU and Certificate of Attendance. All participants must take the exam.
About the Course
Participants must complete the course and pass the exam with a 70% proficiency to satisfy Florida Department of Environmental Protection training requirements for landfill operators under 62-701 FAC. This course also satisfies part of Solid Waste Association of North America (SWANA) certification criteria for Certified Landfill Manager, Inspector or Technical Associate. You will need to complete the SWANA-MOLO Certification Application. Bring the completed application (with your supervisor’s signature) with you to registration/check-in.
