Material Recovery Facility Operator
Is a solid waste management facility that provides for the extraction from solid waste of recyclable materials, materials suitable for use as a fuel or soil amendment, or any combination of such materials. These materials may be of metal, paper, glass, plastic, textile or rubber material. The MRF is a solely engaged in storage, processing, resale or reused of recovered materials. Operators required 16 hours initial course and pass exam with 70% proficiency, then 8 hours of continuing education every 3-year period.
